SUMMARY:Virtual Parent Talk: Building Transferable Skills
DESCRIPTION:Building Transferable Skills: Preparing Your Child for Work-Based Learning and Beyond \nSeptember 30\, 2025 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM EST \nJoin Tech Unlimited’s Education Team for an informative conversation on how to help students develop transferable skills they need to succeed beyond the classroom. This session will be led by Education Director\, Haley Shibble\, Work-Based Learning Coordinator\, Anna Boyarko\, and Social Worker\, Hunter Soileau\, and will focus on what work-based learning is\, how it is integrated into Tech Unlimited’s programs\, and the outcomes we have seen for students. \nWe will also discuss how to prepare your child for career ladder programs\, including the foundational skills that support a successful application and how they can begin building valuable experience. Some of the programs that will be highlighted include: \n\nCreative Tech Internship (CTI)\nDigital Agency (DA)\nCareer Readiness Internship Summer Program (CRISP)\nLevel Up Tech (LUT)\n\nThe session will explore the technical and workplace skills students develop\, such as digital literacy\, time management\, and problem-solving\, along with the social-emotional and interpersonal skills that strengthen communication\, collaboration\, and self-advocacy. Parents will leave with a clear understanding of how these experiences help students gain confidence and prepare for future learning\, work\, and life. \nRSVP
