Interns Placed
CRISP is a six-week summer internship program for neurodiverse students, ages 16-24, interested in building real-world tech and soft skills. Participants are selected based on merit and must have previously completed another Tech Unlimited program.
For students who are not ready to jump into a 6-week internship program, we created CRISP Lab. The program offers a supportive pathway for students who want to strengthen their skills before taking on longer, employer-based experiences. Keep reading to find out more!
Intern Experience
Summer internship participants work 20–22 hours per week for five-weeks at partner worksites. During that time, they also receive career readiness training that builds essential skills in networking, collaboration, and portfolio development. Internships are open students ages 16–24 who have previously participated in Tech Unlimited programs and rewarded on merit.
“An intellectual disability diagnosis/Neurodiversity does not determine a person’s ability to learn and perform a job. There is absolutely a future where employment of neurodiverse people will be more mainstreamed.“
— ConEdison Supervisor
CRISP Lab – A Guided First Step Into Internships
The CRISP Lab program is designed for students and businesses who may not be ready for a full independent internship placement. It is an ideal fit for students with strong technical skills looking to build workplace readiness, as well as businesses interested in commissioning a project rather than hosting an intern on site.
During this 3-week collaborative program, interns work together at TU on a real client project, guided by an experienced mentor. This structured, hands-on experience helps students sharpen both technical and professional skills, while preparing them to progress into the CRISP 6-week external placement the following summer.
“Independent! The intern asks good questions and checks in as needed, but largely gets tasks and completes them independently. They always asks for clarification and communicates well in advance to avoid stressful situations.“
— Worksite Supervisor
