“Nothing about us without us”
What is NAC?
The Neurodiverse Advisory Council is a group of 17 to 22 year old students who think differently, and who help us understand what neurodiverse students want from our programs.
Neurodiversity means there are lots of different ways brains work, and there’s no “right” or “wrong” way. Brains that work differently, whether because of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, or other conditions, bring real strengths and talents alongside challenges.
NAC members meet regularly to share feedback, and their perspective informs how we think about our programming. “Nothing about us without us” is how we approach the work.
How it works
What to Expect as a NAC MemberNAC is invite only, and members must have participated in a Tech Unlimited program (Career Ladder or Tech Knowledge Workshop) in order to be considered for membership. NAC meets once a month on Friday evenings (6-7:30PM) via Zoom, between the months of September and June. Sessions typically include a mix of open discussion, a creative activity related to the topic, and program feedback conversations. Members are paid a stipend for the term based off participation and attendance. |

Want to build your self-advocacy skills?
Self-advocacy is about communicating your needs and interests.
