Summer at TKU: Creativity, Confidence & Community
We’re halfway through an incredible summer at TKU, and the energy is at an all-time high!
TKU’s Weeklong Summer Workshops are in full swing—diving into hands-on projects across graphic design, filmmaking, podcasting, game design, and animation. Meanwhile, 25 interns are participating in TKU’s Career Readiness Internship Summer Program where they are placed with external worksites such as Con Edison, Musekat and Multiple Hub.
Students in the Weeklong Workshops have designed their own posters and characters, edited videos with green screen effects, and produced original podcasts and music tracks. And there’s more to come—like building digital and tabletop games, and creating both digital and stop-motion animations.

What’s been just as powerful as the projects themselves? The growth in confidence and community we’ve seen along the way.
“This is so fun! I’m learning a lot.” – Student, 17
“This was the best summer school of my life.” – Student, 10
Parents are noticing too:
“We have found the lessons to be very helpful, targeted, and they instill a confidence in my daughter that she can feel proud of her work.”
“Wonderful and important work. Thanks for TKU’s leadership, staff, and vision!”
We’re so proud of our students and grateful to our families for making this a summer to remember. Stay tuned—we can’t wait to share more of what they create!
